Surrounding Marquez Elementary Charter School is a strong family oriented community filled with many homes built in the 1950’s – and a fair share of rebuilt homes as well. Numerous families in the Marquez area have children at the elementary charter school.
Marquez Knolls (north of Sunset Boulevard, west of the Village) is a community of homes also first developed in the 1950s. Many homes on the knoll – mostly one story – enjoy ocean views.
Adjacent to Marquez Knolls to the east is Bienveneda Avenue. I have fond memories of this part of town. The first home I sold as a REALTOR® was located on lower Bienveneda (south of Sunset Boulevard) in the 500 block.
Lower Bienveneda has many smaller homes while upper Bienveneda (north of Sunset) has many larger homes, especially as one reaches the top of Bienveneda and Shadow Mountain Drive – with its spectacular estates with ocean, canyon, and city views.
South of Marquez is the Upper Bel Air Bay Club area of the Palisades. This patch of homes (south of Sunset Boulevard, most of them on or off of Arno Way) has a beach community feel and fabulous views due to its close proximity to the Ocean.
